  • Safeguarding

At Anson Primary School, we recognise our responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils. We expect everyone in our school to share this commitment. Our safeguarding culture is embedded across the school in our ethos, values and curriculum. We want to teach our children what it means to be safe, how to behave respectfully towards others and how to recognise if they are experiencing harm. They will know how to access support, confident that their voices will be heard and their concerns taken seriously. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support and protection. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and all staff may raise concerns directly with children’s services. Anson Primary School believes in supporting all aspects of children and young people’s development and keeping them safe.

We will ALWAYS act in the best interest of the child.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy which can all be viewed here.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies, when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.

We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Miss Callaghan (Deputy Headteacher). Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs. Barrett (Inclusion Team Leader). The Governor with responsibility for safeguarding is Mitchell Clarke.
